The structure of this course is to provide a broad foundation upon which you may find your personal and intuitive connection to the study of astrology.   The time frame of moving through the signs of the zodiac for a full year of cycle is only meant to be used as a linear container that will allow you to slowly build upon each component.   The information you gather will continually evolve, gain greater depth and be transformative in your own understanding of yourself and your inherent strengths, weaknesses, and more.  I'll be posting each new lesson  at the beginning of a new solar month**. This is because we are using the progression  of the Sun through each of the 12 signs as our marker for taking a look at the qualities of the subsequent sign.   ** def. of : One twelfth of a solar year, totaling approx. 30 days, 10 hours, 29 minutes, 3.8 seconds.

The study of astrology is a life time process. The basic memorization of the components used to assess and interpret a natal (birth) chart , although tedious, are the first steps towards a deeper connection to the energies that abound within those tools that are used as description, metaphor and parameters of  interpretation. So, allow yourself to take whatever time is needed to fully understand each of the monthly lessons. As you move through several months, frequently, go back and re-read the prior lessons,; for as you build up the foundation and then go back and have another look, greater detail is revealed. Additionally, the movement through the signs of the zodiac mirrors our movement through the cycles of life, the seasons of nature and the continuum of the cosmos and time.

Experiential and Personal Study

One of the best ways to learn new material is to make it relevant to some aspect of yourself. The study of astrology lends itself naturally to the study of you and your innate qualities and traits.  As I began to study astrology, the first thing I did was to obtain my own chart in a simple format. As I worked through the attributes of the zodiac signs, the houses, planets and aspects, I looked each time to see where, if at all these components were placed in my on chart.  Layer upon layer I build a core foundation of information, more readily memorized (because I can personally relate to what is the statement of expression. This is an ongoing process that has brought me much joy in the many years that I have approached this subject in this particular way.

  • So, before you go any further, click on the link below, enter the needed information and then print out a copy to use as your reference.  I have my chart taped into the back of a journal that I use to record any new information I come across, make notes directly on it and refer back to it frequently.

Astrolabe-  Free Natal Chart  (Beginner recommended)

You will need to know 3 things:

Birth date

Birth Time

Location of Birth

  • For this first solar month, take some time to look through everything that has been posted. Next month, we'll talk about the natal chart you printed out, how to use it in our studies and the Major Three components of your chart.
